A Reputation 40+ Years in the Making

The Auto Clinic & Mill St. Tire is a family owned and operated auto repair service and tire shop in Reno Nevada. Both The Auto Clinic and Mill St. Tire have been serving our local community and surrounding areas for since the late 1970’s.

After working there for over 20 years Mark purchased the The Auto Clinic (originally named “The Toy Auto Clinic”) in 2001 and Mill St. Tire in 2017. Originally each it’s own business, Mill St. Tire was merged with The Auto Clinic to bring our customers a more complete offering for their automotive needs.

The Auto Clinic over the years has been a premier independent specialist of Asian import auto repair and service including Toyota, Honda, Subaru and Lexus. Today we now also repair both domestic as well as imports and are your best choice for scheduled maintenance of your car, SUV, truck and fleet vehicles.

Now with addition of Mill St. Tire we can also offer complete tire and wheel services all in one place.

Our ASE certified technicians are ready to deal with any car repair needed or vehicle issues you may be experiencing.

Mark Stathes Sr - President

ASE Certified Technician Mark Stathes is a native of Nevada, born and raised right here in Reno. Mark started as a mechanic at the shop in back in 1980. Since that time he has been dedicated to bringing honest, fair auto repair services to Reno and the surrounding areas.

Stephanie Stathes

Stephanie is Marks wife and the IT/ Webmaster for The Auto Clinic / Mill St. Tire.
Both avid animal lovers Mark and Stephanie have spent many years volunteering with various animal rescue organizations. They also share a passion for classic cars.

Sergio has worked at The Auto Clinic as key employee since 2009. Over the years Sergio has advanced to become our trusted service adviser and oversees many areas of our company.

Lisa has been helping families with their tire and wheel needs since 2009.

Our team specializes in both Asian import and American vehicles. As automotive technology advances, our team is continually updating their education and skills.

My wife and I have sent our cars to The Auto Clinic for about 30 years now. The cars have run the gamut from a 1987 Toyota Camry to a 2019 Subaru Outback. This includes a Ford pickup and a Hybrid Toyota.We have had multiple different services done, and there have been times when Sergio has told us NOT to bring the car to him because it would be better to take it somewhere else!I would highly recommend them, but I need the time slots!

My friend told me it cost $25. to remove a tire from the rim and replace it with another you already own and balance it. I had them do all 4 (+my tires are over sized) and they did all the work of removing and returning the tires onto my truck. Only $170. Which I feel was totally fair.

Auto Clinic did an excellent job getting my tahoe running again and way faster than I was expecting! Additionally, they could've said anything was wrong but instead, they said it took under an hour to find a bad ground to chassis and my truck went from hopelessly dead to purring like a kitten!! You guys are my go to shop and I WILL be sending people your way. You guys rock!!!

Good people. They've kept my old, high mileage toyota truck running well for years and they are pretty straightforward about what repairs I can put off versus what is more pressing. Part of me hates to share this because I don’t want the whole world to know that this is hands down the best, honest shop I’ve ever been to…but I’m trying not be selfish.Seriously though…Sergio is the best. I trust anyone who tells me things like “you don’t need new brakes yet, come back in six months and I’ll check them then” or “I can rotate your tires and that way you only have to buy two right now instead of four.”

Sergio always takes care of us, and usually within the week. Sometimes his schedule changes, but we get that. I don’t feel talked down to or like they’re trying to rip me off. Definitely recommend!

The crew here are AWESOME. Needed to get a smog on my new diesel dually with over sized wheels. The shop doing the smog would not pull the pitter wheels off. Visiting family for Christmas when the "GREAT winter storm Squall of 2021" hit!Check engine light came on, and my Subaru Outback was making an odd sound.Also, my tires are in decent shape for SF bay area, but I was super leery of getting over Donner Pass with them and the INSANE amount of that cold slippery stuff the locals call "Snow"... So I got tires.While there I had them fix my lighter outlets, so I would have some music when I would be driving 25mph all the way to Auburn!My car troubles could have really been a headache, but some family members recommend the auto clinic so highly, I felt comfortable relying on them.
